Upstairs Dormer Windows Creates a Tree-House View of the Neighborhood

What to do when it's too rainy to let the kids play outside? Send 'em upstairs to that special new room under the attic dormers that's as kid-proof as any room can be. They'll insist that you fill that alcove with a dart board or art displays or the screen for their Wii games. They'll raise the dormer windows and launch paper airplanes to their friends below. Little do they care how handsome those windows look from the street, with their ornamental vertical muntins up top. They won't be able to "paint" pictures on steamy windows, however, because today's windows are geared to local climates, and condensation is a thing of the past. In high wind areas, that playroom will have the added safety of shatter-resistant glass - just in case you're raising the next Michael Jordan.
