Single Pane Windows are Easy to Repair

But the situation is made much easier if it's a single-pane window. Double-pane windows must be replaced by a professional, thanks to the damage done to the sealed interior. The energy efficiency of double-pane windows can be compromised with even the slightest crack. For single-pane windows, however, a repair can be done with simple household tools and a new sheet of glass. Simply pull out the remaining shards, remove the glazing points with a set of pliers, and carefully work to set the new sheet of glass into the frame. Using high-quality caulking or putty, seal the window into the frame, and repaint the area if it needs it. That's it, and you're done!
