Hunter Green Exterior Door with Arched Panels and Vertical Mail Slot

Hunter Green Exterior Door with Arched Panels and Vertical Mail Slot

The door to this home is a two panel design, but what makes it especially interesting is that the two panels are vertical, one on either side of the door's muntin that runs the entire length of the door. The top of each panel forms a true arch, which is half of a circle. Because of the frame and two panels, the only place to put an antique bronze mail slot is in the door's muntin, parallel to the stiles. Additional door furniture includes the house number 35, a peephole, a matching and simple antique bronze door bell, and several door latches. Above the door's lintel is a fixed, rectangular window. This window joins the two, white square columns on either side of the door. These white columns match the brick wall, painted white, that is designed to look much like a picket fence. As the door is solid and without a light, it's very fortunate that a large sash window is on the same wall as the door.
