Oak Doors

Oak doors are a popular choice due to the great density of this beautiful wood. The density makes it very strong and durable. This wood is very resistant to insect and fungal attack because of its high tannin content.

Oak also has very attractive and intricate grain markings, particularly when quarter sawn. Wide, quarter-sawn oak boards have been prized since the Middle Ages and were used for the interior paneling of prestigious buildings such as the debating chamber of the British House of Commons in London, England, as well as the construction of fine furniture centuries ago.

As you can see in the photo there are several designs of oak doors which can be used for both internal and external purposes. There are many colors from which to choose. Red oak is one of the lighter colors, and white oak is actually somewhat darker. Oak doors require very minimal maintenance when coated with varnish which will also increase their life span. Oak is thus both a classy and practical choice.
